Do you think Pinot Grigio is okay to use for an Alfredo sauce?

I'm new to cooking and I just so happen to have some Pinot Grigio Wine and I wanted to use it for some Cajun Alfredo sauce. I'm not sure if it would taste okay since it is a sweeter wine. If not what would you recommend? Please help :)
