Can I accelerate the prep time for tapioca pudding?

I would like to make tapioca pudding using Reese small pearl tapioca, but I forgot to factor in the overnight soak. Can I accelerate the preparation by soaking the pearls in boiling it warm water or by increasing the cooking time?
